Mississippi River Boat

This is a Scientific Model kit from way back in the 1980s. It's mostly wood with some small metal parts and plastic side walls for the decorative detail.

It was my first and only wood ship model. Mostly due to cost and lack of display area for any other wooden models. Somehow it has survived 40 years and 2 major moves. Both times being packed in a fish tank. I remember mixing my own custom colors and cutting & sanding every little piece. I even got it wrong; the upper deck house is actually on backwards. I also remember that it took well over 100 hours and about 3 months to complete.
