1968 Plymouth GTX Convertible
This kit fought me every way it possibly could. It was actually the first kit I purchased. When I opened it half the parts were missing. It was sealed but the Hobby Lobby price tag was under the shrink wrap. Meaning it had been opened and returned to the store. They sealed it up and put it back on the shelf. If the price tag is not on the outside of the shrink wrap Do Not Buy It. I took it back and got the Bronco and Dune Buggy.
My plan was to paint it Dreamy Lavender (the color of the T-Bird) with purple interior. That didn't work, it looked horrible. So, the interior parts went into the stripper. Tried them as black, nope. Ended up stripping everything and starting over. So, I tried White with Black trim. Had it looking good, was bringing back into the house and tripped on a tree root. It went into the only dirt patch in my back yard. So, back into the stripper. All toll, this car has been stripped and repainted 5 times. After the 3rd strip, I was going to just stop work on this kit. My wife convinced me to keep at it. I'm glad she did, it came out rather nice after 3 months of trying.
