Cat is the ruler of the castle. The White Cat is the familiar of the Mistress. Yellow Eyes is a female hound of the castle. In general Cat would not talk to any of the dogs, but Yellow Eyes seems different, and indeed is from over the water. Yellow Eyes reports smelling a leaf-ear. Together they ask the advice of White Cat, and go out and seek the leaf-ear. Yellow Eyes and Cat then steal the Mistress’ power stone and deliver it to the man who rides the Leaf-ear.
